Stitch Tactics

Improv Comedy | Too Short to Suck

About

We are a bunch of lazy kids trying to prove ourselves otherwise.

Taylor and Tosin performing at a Kansas City improv showStitch Tactics is a professional Kansas City improv comedy group and a student comedy organization at KU. The Lawrence branch is a University of Kansas student organization devoted to teaching improv comedy to anyone willing to learn. The professional branch performs short-form improv in Kansas City several times a month at Comedy City in the Westport Flea Market.

Origins

Jordy Altman, Alex Haynes and Lara Ducey sought to create an improv troupe that was open to anyone willing to make an ass out of themselves. In 2004, they succeeded at the University of Kansas. Six months after creation, membership tripled. Within the year, there were 25 members and meetings had to be scheduled twice a week.

The part about being bitten by a radioactive spider was omitted because we know how too much exposition can frustrate fans.

The Name

Stitch Tactics. Our tactics will put you in stitches. Now you’ve got a mnemonic device to remember our name. The only thing left now is learning how to pronounce it, just like mnemonic.
